Word For Today: Be careful whose counsel you seek!

Be careful who you seek counsel from; the fact that someone is well versed in an area does not make them an authority in life. In the same vein, the fact that someone is so successful or rich does not mean they can give you counsel on how to live your life.
You cannot run your life from counsel that has not been proven; not everything on social media should be taken at face value. There is a difference between success as a person and success as an event.
As seen in Genesis 1:26, this is the original intent of God; God wants you to ‘have’! He wants you to have authority, success, influence, a voice.
The first time the word ‘desire’ was mentioned was after the fall of man; if you are not ready to desire it, God is not ready to waste it on you. Waste stems from a lack of desire, or when it gets too much.

Some people do not want to expect too much for fear of disappointment based on experiences. But it is better to expect 10 and receive 7, than to expect nothing and receive nothing.
Expectation is different from desperation; the latter is when the pressure is placed on you as a person, leading to anxiety (Phil. 4:16). But when it is expectation based on God’s word, you will not be perplexed.
PRAYER/DECLARATIONS
Jeremiah 17:5-7 – Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose hope is the Lord.

Prayer - My trust is in You oh Lord, and not in my abilities. So I am not anxious in drought; I remain productive in the name of Jesus!
