Proverbs 16:1-9

GODLY PLANNING

To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue. Proverbs 16:1, NIV

As humans, we tend to think that we have answer and solution to many things. Many of us go ahead to plan without seeking the face of God for direction. Just like a PhD holder whose labour of ten years collapsed because he failed to attribute his successes to God. He thought it was his learning and cleverness that made him. While sorrowing, his seven year old son was reciting the above verse and it got to him. This was what led him to Christ.


We often depend too much on our brain, training, experience, human connections and many other physical matters to plan our life’s journey. As good as these things are, they can and they do fail us. Remember, Paul may plant and Apollos may water, but only God makes growth possible. Motives are more important to God than actions (Proverbs 16:2). Always involve God and check the condition of your heart before attempting anything. Let your heart be pure before you take any action.
