ISIS militants have reportedly beheaded four members of a football team after banning the sport for being anti-Islamic
The terrorist group reportedly banned organised sports like football two years ago after taking over Raqqa in Syria.
The victims identified as Osama Abu Kuwait, Ihsan Al Shuwaikh, Nehad Al Hussein and Ahmed Ahawakh were killed in a gruesome execution.
A photo from the execution as well as other snaps of the fooitballers lined with teams mates during the times when football was still allowed was shared on twitter by a protest group, Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently.
The city that used to be flooded with fans who wanted to watch Al-Shabab play matches in the city’s large stadium, has since dried up since the terrorists invaded.
Last year, 13 teen boys were also reportedly executed for watching the Asian Cup football match between Iraq and Jordan.
May their souls rest in peace.
