ONE IN CHRIST

Now I beseech you, brethren …that there be no divisions among you... I Corinthians 1:10, KJV

The issue of caucus formation, class or grouping of one another is not a novel concept. It was in existence among the Christians at Corinth just as it is with today’s believers. Thus, Paul saw the need to exhort them on issues of unity and brotherly love. He reproved them for permitting divisions amongst them. The
question for the contemporary believer is how deep will pride and contention establish us in the faith? Our passage points us towards building up ourselves in Christ as one body without considering rivalries.

At the coming of our Saviour and King, denominationalism that has become a cancer in the Church today shall give way and believers will appear unto her Maker as one body. We are, therefore, being spurred to live a life of love. Whatever gift we might possess will be done with, prophecies will cease, tongues will be stilled and knowledge will pass away, only love shall remain. Ask God to enrich you in this divine currency.

• Birthday Blessing: Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest,” Matthew 11:28

RBT Passage: Ezra 8, 9; Acts 13:14-39

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and fin thee, that they also may be one in us... - Jesus Christ
