In this the children of God and the Children of the devil are manifest… 1 John 3:4-11 NIV

A man was charge to court for being a Christian Several witnesses were called to speak about his lifestyle They all gave evidence of his Christian. They spoke of his kindness to people around him. His colleagues spoke of his refusal to compromise standards at work.


Finally, the defense lawyer asked for a moment with him. He told him that the only way to escape conviction was to bring others to counter the claims that had been made. He assured him that they would win if he could plead not guilty. When the court resumed sitting, the defense lawyer announced to the court that he could not defend the accused. The court gave the accused the opportunity to say a few words. He admitted to the things that had been said but maintained that they were not done to offend anyone. The judge promptly convicted him of being a believer.

Beloved, if you are arrested today for being a Christian, will there be enough witnesses to affirm that indeed you are a Christian? Today’s text says that whatever we do is a reflection of who we are. When we indulge in sin, it is a pointer to who we are. When we live in righteousness, it is a pointer to who we are.
