Deuteronomy 11:1-9

RIPPLE EFFECT

“Therefore you shall keep every commandment which I command you today... you may prolong your days in the land which the Lord swore to give your fathers...” Deuteronomy 11:8-9, NIV

If you drop a rock into a pool of water you will see that the rock creates ripples that move from the point of entry out into the surrounding waters. We call this ripple effect. Every ripple begins with the dropping of a stone. When the stone hits the water: it initiates a cycle of events. The first ripple creates the next. Today, we are reminded that enjoying the goodness of God is dependent on our being obedient to Him.

Beloved, the message is, if we keep the commandments of God, we can expect Him to keep His promises. The result of our obedience is that it brings God’s blessings. Similarly, if we disobey God, we position ourselves for His punishment; this too is a ripple effect. As you go through your day, take time to reflect on the implication of your personal obedience or disobedience. Nothing you do is without effect.

• Birthday Blessing: ... But the LORD’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him. Psalm 32:10

RBT Passage: Ps. 90-94; 1 Cor. 2

No one could be ideally successful until he has found his place. Like locomotive, he is strong on the track, but weak anywhere else. Orison Marden
