1 Peter 3:8-13
LIVE TOGETHER IN HARMONY
Finally, all of you, live together in harmony. 1 Peter 3:8, NIV
Apostle Paul gave this appeal to believers having counselled each member of the family on what each person has to do to ensure peace and cooperation within the home.
The text read gives the specific things that each member of the family must contribute in character to the happiness of their togetherness in the family. From the passage, it is evident that the family members are not supposed to live in isolation from one another.
The ingredients for a well-adjusted family setting from the text are; (i) Like mindedness, this is the unity and absence of divisive elements (ii) Sympathy- identifying with one another in pain and in sorrow (iii) Love one another (iv) Having compassion- showing mercy (v) Humility- respecting the opinion of one another (vi) None of them should pay one another back evil with evil.
These are lacking in our relationship today and they deprive us of God's presence and blessing. Identify your area of need and pray to God for help.
