Hosea 14:1—7

UNDER HIS SHADOW

Those who dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall be revived... Hosea 14:7

John Piper once made an illustration to some children and their parents. He said, “Kids, suppose you and your mom get separated in the grocery store, and you start to get scared and panic and don’t know which way to go, and you run to the end of an aisle, and just before you start to cry, you see a shadow on the floor at the end of the aisle that looks just like your mom. It
makes you really happy and you feel hope.” Beloved, when you dwell under the shadow of God, you have hope for today and tomorrow. Hosea makes it clear that when we stay within the confines of God’s shadow, we are set for profound restoration.

No matter what you are going through do not leave the cover of the Almighty. Do not move out of the shadow of the Most High. Guess what? If you stay there, here is the promise—God will cause unimaginable growth in your life. He says there will be revival, there will be growth, and there will be a wonderful scent. You will become the toast of your generation again. Stay under His shadow.
