EFCC: Anti-graft agency declare ex-BBC reporter wanted over N800M fraud

Former BBC reporter, Jamila Tangaza, has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The was made known to the general public on Monday, October 24, 2016 by the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.
Magu noted that the anti-graft agency is on the lookout for Tangaza following reports that she attempted to jump bail and escape the country.

Tangaza, it was further said, is being investigated over allegations of financial crimes to the tune of about N800 million.
She was alleged to have misappropriated funds when she served as the Director of Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) and Senior Special Assistant to the former Federal Capital Territory Minister (FCT), Bala Mohammed.
Magu also said Tangaza is currently on administrative bail, thus if she jumps bail is committing another crime, noting that her bail surety has been summoned.
