Time Bomb: You have to Probe Obasanjo – Waku urges Buhari

Senator Joseph Waku, former Chairman, Senate Committee on Water Resources, has called on President Buhari to probe former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Waku said Nigerians will take Buhari’s fight against corruption serious, if he allows theEconomic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe OBJ.
According To him, Mr. President should forget all the talk about fighting corruption if he does not look into ex-President Obasanjo’s activities.

Waku, who alleged that OBJ brought corruption into Nigeria, “Look, I am 70 years old now and have been in this game for more than 50 years.
“Therefore, there is no way I can just look at some totality of what people are saying about corruptionand believe it as it has been reported to me. If I have an investigating mechanism, I know that this accusation is real obviously.
“I have access to authority. I have access to Mr. President. I told Mr. President that this corruption probe of past regimes, if you don’t probe Obasanjo, then you haven’t done anything yet. Corruption in Nigeria was introduced by Obasanjo.”
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has also called on the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami to probe former Head of State, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida over an alleged missing oil wind fall money amounting to $12.4b.
Bola Obasanjo, the wife of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, in May 2016, said her husband doesn’t joke with his money.
