After the creation by God, in the beginning, the bible tells us that God used six (6) days to work the whole process of creating heaven, earth, and every other thing therein. As at that time, on the 7th day, we were told he rested.

 

History made us understand that there were a garden and a man that was managing the affairs of the garden. Read the Bible from Genesis chapter 1 vs 1 to know more about how God created the heaven and the earth. That is not the crux of the matter.

 

Everything we see today, inventions, platforms, orientation, and or we have a problem solved, it is as a result of “Possibility thinking”. After God created the world within six (6) days, I think what God actually did on the 7th day was to rest and release to man the power to create things that will make life easier for all his creatures. Today the world is gladly benefiting from Possibility Thinking.

The Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP) has queried the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola over the award of 10 road and bridge contracts worth N166 billion.

The BPP said the minister and his ministry violated the laws guiding contract awards in Nigeria in the manner they selected contractors for the projects.

The procurement agency is asking Mr. Fashola to explain, among other things, why the costs of some of the projects were inflated and why some were awarded to unqualified firms.

No Kerosene In All Lagos Depots, Says NUPENG

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) on Saturday says there is no single drop of kerosene in the private and NNPC depots in Lagos.

Mr Rotimi Benjamin, National Chairman Surface Tank Kerosene Peddlers (SUTAKEP) Branch of NUPENG disclosed in Lagos that the product was last brought to the depot on Dec.27.

Benjamin who is also the Vice Chairman NUPENG Lagos Zonal Council said the scarcity of kerosene has increased the price, making it unaffordable for the masses.

Fayose In Fresh Trouble Or Alleged Diversion of N8.877bn Paris Club Refund

Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, may have run into fresh trouble with the Federal Government after it was found that he collected the sum of N8.877 billion from the N388.304 billion released to 35 states as refunds from over-deductions on London-Paris Club loans but only paid one out of the eight-month salary arrears he owed workers in the state.

Fayose was also said to have paid a curious 13th month salary as bonus while the arrears of seven-month salaries owed the workers were left unpaid.

Nigeria Records 273 Lassa Fever Cases, 149 Deaths In 2015/16

Nigeria recorded the largest outbreak of Lassa fever in its history between 2015 and 2016, with 273 reported cases resulting to 149 deaths, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, said on Friday

Chikwe Ihekweazu, Chief Executive Officer of NCDC, said this in a statement in Lagos.

Mr. Ihekweazu said the cases were reported from 23 states.

Ibori Supported Saraki, Dogara, others From Prison – Senator

A Senator, Peter Nwabaoshi, on Thursday, claimed that a former Governor of Delta State, Mr. James Ibori, who was released from prison in the United Kingdom on Wednesday, supported Dr. Bukola Saraki and Mr. Yakubu Dogara to emerge as Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives respectively.

The Southwark Crown court had, on April 17, 2012, jailed Ibori for 13 years after he pleaded guilty to 10 counts of money laundering and stealing $50m from the Delta State treasury.

CAN wants Nigeria To Withdraw From Islamic Finance Body

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says Nigeria’s membership of the International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation (IILMC) should be withdrawn.

Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was made chairman of the IILMC during the 17th governing board meeting of the organisation in Jakarta, Indonesia.

But in a statement on Thursday, Bayo Oladeji, media assistant to Samson Ayokunle, president of CAN, said this was contrary to section 10 of the Nigerian constitution, which states that “the government of the federation or a state shall not adopt any religion as state religion”.
