A DAY TO FINISH

2 Timothy 4:1-8

For I am already been poured out like a drink offering and the time has come for my departure... 2 Tim. 4:6, NIV

As the graduating students filed into the convocation arena, Jane could not contol her tears. She had been mourning for about two weeks when she learnt that she would not be graduating. She suddenly realised how foolish she had been since her 200 level when she started following her friends to parties and flirting about. At first, she enjoyed the game, more so that she had a lot of cash to spend. But as the years went by she lost her faith and could no longer cope with her studies.


Apostle Paul, unlike Jane, did not get stocked along the way. He finished the Christian race on earth so well that he could say, " I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown..." (vv. 6-8). Beloved, can you say such about yourself if this day is to be your last day? Remember that everyone will finish the race one day. What shall your report be?
