Biography of Pete Edochie; Actor; Anambra State Celebrity.


Pete Edochie
Pete Edochie, an indigene of Anambra State Nigeria, was born on March 7, 1947 in Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria. He is a Nigerian actor seen as one of Africa’s most talented actors. 

Pete Edochie had his primary and secondary Education in Zaria, Kaduna State of Nigeria. After his formal education, he worked with the Nigerian Railway Cooperation. Later, he went further to study a course in Journalism and Television in the School of Journalism and television in England.

Pete Edochie joined the Eastern Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation in 1967 and in 1980, he was trained formally in the British Broadcasting Ccorporation as a broadcaster. 

Pete Edochie came into limelight in the 1980s when he played the lead role of Okonkwo in the Nigerian Television Authority's adaptation of Chinua Achebe's all time best selling novel, "Things Fall Apart".  Since then, Pete Edochie has featured in over 200 Nollywood movies and his prowess in the industry has won him many national and international awards.



Pete Edochie is one Nollywood actor that selects the characters he plays in films as the character must be fitting to his stature and the script must have a good story line.

Pete Edochie was kidnapped on August 16, 2009 on his way to an event along Nkpor in Anambra State. But was fortunately released on the next day being August 17, 2009. 


Pete Edochie is married with children among who are Yul Edochie and Linc Edochie both Nollywood actors.
