The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption, Professor Itse Sagay has said that President Muhammadu Buhari was right not to release the names of persons accused of looting Nigeria’s treasury.
Buhari promised to release the names of the looters on May 29, 2016 but he failed to do so.
Sagay said, while speaking to Daily Trust on Tuesday, May 31, that the names of the looters should not be the concern of Nigerians for now.
“We have those who have admitted they stole some monies and had returned them. For those people, we don’t need any court judgment to release their names as, already, they have admitted guilt,” he said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed has said that Buhari refused to release the names because he was advised against the action.
