Matthew 12:15-21
FULFILLED IN GOD
"This was to fulfill what was spoken..." Matt. 12:17
The fulfillment of God's Word is embedded in the revelation and testimonies of the Lord Jesus Christ. In today's text, there was an argument on the use of the Sabbath which degenerated into a serious controversy between Pharisees and Jesus.
They planned to kill Jesus for this reason and yet the Scripture has to be fulfilled. He withdrew from that place and the ministry continued till there was an accomplishment of the gospel. When God speaks then fulfilment is activated.
The rejection of the Gospel in one place has often been the means of establishing it in another place. The Pharisees sent Jesus packing and He was warmly welcomed in another community where He healed all that came to Him and were in need of healing. Has God changed? No, He is still the same as ever. His Word is ever true and can always be trusted.
Fulfilment lies only in the obedience to His Word following Him closely. What do you trust Him for today? Keep on following Him and the blessing will be delivered to you soonest. Fulfilment lies in trusting Him absolutely. Note that the power in God's Word is greater than the pressure of troubles around you. Let God's Word that comes to you in various forms bring fulfilment as you appropriate them.
Pray with this: There is surely future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Pro. 23:18
