Isaiah 40:27-31
HOPE IN GOD
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength... Isaiah 40: 31. NIV
Israel felt God was no more interested in her situation. She felt dejected, abandoned, neglected and hopeless because of her unpleasant situation. She compared her desolate experience with the wonderful acts of God during the days of the patriarchs, especially the miraculous deliverance from Egypt and
subsequent interventions of God in the history of her people. This made her to lament, “My way is hidden from the LORD: my cause is disregarded by my God” (v. 27).
Are you also feeling that the mighty God has forsaken you, or does not respond to your case promptly as you are expecting? The good news for you today is that, God knows all you are going through and cares for you. You may not have holistic understanding of what He is currently doing about your situation because of your human limitation (v. 28). However, God is giving you power and increasing your strength to do exploit and to overtake those who you consider powerful and ahead of you (v. 29-30). You will soon overtake those you think are naturally endowed, but who trust in their ability. They will stumble and fall because they do not trust in God. The Lord will settle you on mountains of godliness, greatness, success, abundant provision and favour by His divine power, Just hope in Him.
• Birthday Blessing: “I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you... and you will be a blessing to others.” Genesis 12:2
RBT Passage: Neh. 11, 12; Acts 16:25-40
Our emphasis in life must be on the most essential things: to be saved, live a life of holiness and be ready for the coming of the Lord. — W. F. Kumuyi
