Romans 5:1-11
NOT WITHOUT HOPE
“… And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God” Romans 5:2, NIV
Forty years of Philistine oppression marked a grim period in Israel’s national history. At a time when it felt that they had lost it all, an angel informed an Israelite woman of the divine plan to rescue her people through the seed from her womb. The boy,
Samson, became a symbol and a gift of hope to his family and the entire nation at that troubled time. The same was with Moses who came as a deliverer for his people from the hand of the ruthless Pharaoh.
Troubles are unavoidable in life, yet we are not left without hope. We have the assurance of deliverance in Jesus Christ. Sometimes, our challenges are only a test of our endurance and patience level “...because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us” (Romans 5:3-5). We serve a God who works behind the scene of our lives; all He desires from us in any situation are perseverance and lots of patience. Don’t give up on God because He won’t give up on you. Be hopeful; the redeemer of Israel is with you and is still working till now.
• Birthday Blessing: I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places... Isa. 45:3
RBT Passage: Job 1, 2, 3; Acts 20:17-38
Circumstances are the rulers of the weak; but the instrument of the wise. — Samuel Glover
