2 Thessalonians 3:1-5
LIVING STEADFASTLY
And we have confidence in the LORD about you, that you are doing and will do the things which we command. 2 Thessalonians 3:4, RSV
The epistles of Paul to the Thessalonians show the unwavering, firm and growing faith of the Thessalonians (1 Thessalonians 1:2-3; 2 Thessalonians 1:3-4). They received Christ during the period of affliction and tribulation, yet they stood firm by their decision to follow Christ and obey His Word (given by the apostles). Their growing faith was visible hence Apostle Paul and others could testify to it and commend them.
Can you take a minute to reflect and take a stock of your faith since you gave your life to Christ? If you are to plot a graph of your spiritual life what will it look like? Will it be: I) Ascending: growing or progressing . ii) Consistent: on the same level, maintaining status quo. iii) Descending: this is retrogressing, it is a red alert. To be living steadfastly requires determination to grow without compromise on the Word of God.
The indications of living steadfastly are: praying without ceasing, studying the Bible regularly, observing quiet time daily, going on evangelism, giving and peace-making continually. Beloved, do these and there will be no contention on whether you are living steadily or not.
Pray with this: "I will give you every place you set your foot... Joshua 1:3
