Tekno: Trust me, 'Pana' video is the best 4 minutes you will spend this month

Tekno has been having a swell time.
The young singer was signed at the height of Iyanya’s fame in 2013, after impressing with ‘Oyenekwu’ and the Davido-assisted ‘Holiday’, the singer, producer and dancer was snapped up by the record label. He had just released his song ‘Dance’, with very little promotion. Fate sought him out, and his star began to rise. ‘Dance’ grew quickly, eclipsing songs with bigger budgets, and convincing the powers at MMMG to get it a video.

Last year was a prolific one for him. Tekno made the nation stand still with ‘Duro’, before going one better with ‘Wash’. These songs cemented his position as one of the stars of the year, shot up his stock, and also changed his fees. Where he was commanded peanuts, now his fees make you go nuts. That was quickly followed by the single ‘Where’, in 2016 which is has caught on.

Right now, it’s the mid-tempo romantic pop single ‘Pana’, that has gone viral, with each new day spreading the influence of the song. But it is the video which dropped yesterday (August 22, 2016), that is what you should be focused on right now.

In its four minute and 12 seconds runtime, Tekno takes viewers on a sensual and colourful journey through love, dances, suave looks, self-expression, isolation, happiness and romance. There are Mandarin scribblings all over the video, and a tremendous amount of the lead model in a bath. She rubs herself, blows kisses, bends in sexy ways, and makes out with Tekno (in silhouette).

Tekno sings through it, dancing and miming to the music, and showing fans a classy side of his boyish showmanship. His immersive commercial vocals come through, as he drops his nonsensical but catchy lines, promising the lady a lot of sacrifices, including his ‘cassava’.

The video is available for viewing on Youtube, and it was shot by the prolific visual virtuoso, Clarence Peters. This is the best video you have seen all month.
