Luke 4:16-21
ANOINTED FOR MINISTRY
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor... Luke 4:18 NIV
The word, ‘Christ’ which was (and is still) usually attached to Jesus’ name was not a surname. ‘Christ’ simply means The Anointed One. Jesus was referred to as such because He had a
ministry. He was anointed to fulfil God’s will on earth. In essence, the anointing upon His life was not for showboating; it was a divine enablement for a particular assignment given to Him by His Father. So, on a particular Sabbath day, Jesus entered into the synagogue and revealed to the people the essence of His humanity
Every child of God has a ministry to fulfil. In life, what should define a child of God is the ministry he or she has been called to fulfil. If you die without fulfilling the ministry God has called you into and anointed you for, you will be counted among the wasted generations. So, prayerfully find out what was written concerning you so that you can fulfil it. You cannot afford to waste God’s anointing upon your life. The consequences may be too costly at the end of your journey. Be warned!
Birthday Blessing: Be strong, do not fear; your God will come ... to save you. Isaiah 35:4
RBT Passage: Isaiah 1, 2; 2 Cor. 10
I will sooner bring one sinner to Jesus Christ than unpick all the mysteries of the divine Word. - C. H. Spurgeon
