BECOMING CHILDREN OF GOD
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name,he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12-13, NIV
To become a child of God is the best thing that can ever happen to a person. In fact, until you become a child of God, you will never find true fulfillment, no matter what else you become.
Jesus says, “Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). The right to become children of God belongs to those who receive Jesus and believe in His name (v 12).
Nicodemus story in John 3 proves that one does not become a child of God by adhering and holding on to the tenets and philosophies of a religion, by being born into a Christian family or going to church regularly. You become a child of God when you repent of your sins, acknowledge the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ and accept that gift by faith.
Those who are born of God carry the nature of God in then, they live righteous lives and do not sin (1 John 2:29; 3:9). God’s children love their father and one another; instead of being overcome by the pressures of this world or conforming to its standards, they overcome the world (1 John 5:4). Are you a child of God?
Birthday Blessing: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give l unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. — John 14:27
