Chris Oyakhilome: Pastor divides opinion with latest teaching on marital relationships

In a Facebook post on Christ Embassy's online missions page, Pastor Chris teaches that "Husband does not mean the male partner in a marriage, husband means master."

Further explaining the role of the woman in the relationship, the Christ Embassy Pastor continued;

"If most women had their fathers bold enough to talk to them, they will be very successful in their marriage and they will be very happy people. Most women have never been taught by their parents, their fathers particularly and that’s their biggest problem because they don’t know who a man is, they think he is another woman.

"In marriage, you have the man who is the head of that union and because he’s the head of that union, its important to understand him. You think he’s the one that needs to understand his wife and that is where you are wrong."
The post went on and on, detailing how the man is the head and the woman's role is primarily and majorly to be obedient and to follow his every lead.

Sure enough, since September 4 when the post started being shared, a lot of people have expressed different opinions, with some showing their support, while others expressed shock and denial of the Pastor Chris' teachings.
The matter is obviously seen from different angles by Nigerians, as the debate is still ongoing about the truth or lack of it in the Pastor's words.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is regarded as one of the biggest Pastors in the country, and was married until early year 2016, when he split from his wife and fellow Pastor, Anita Oyakhilome.
