2 Corinthians 15:1-11

CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3, NIV

Today text is the oldest of all testimonies to our Lord’s death and resurrection by one among many eyewitnesses, the apostle Paul. This is the heart of the Christian Gospel – “Christ died for our
sins.” Ever since Adam sinned, every human has been guilty of disobeying God’s righteous laws and the Bible attests to this. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” As a result, everyone deserves death (not just physical death but eternal separation from God).

Although God banished Adam and Eve from the garden He did not leave them without hope. Since The fail of humankind, they have sacrificed animals repeatedly but without repentance from sin. In a bid to perfect the reconciliation between humankind and God, Christ came to die for us. Jesus’ death was so momentous that it dealt with human’s sin against God. By believing in this great act of God to humankind, your liberation from the “curse of the law” is guaranteed. What else do you need to accept Christ as your Saviour and Lord?
