THE GLORY OF THE NATION RESTORED

… for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Isaiah 60:19, NIV

A terrible agony to bear in life is the agony of lost or departed glory, especially the glory of God. It is better not to experience it
than to lose it, When Israel came to the point of Ichabod, having lost the glory of God, they automatically became mincemeat in the hands of their enemies. They lost their identity as a nation. They lost their togetherness and their pride and became captives in several nations they were scattered into. In mercy, God eventually moved to salvage the remnant of Israel.

In today’s Passage, the gory that was restored to Israel was the Shekinah glory God’s presence. The restoration of that glory practically ended its days of sorrow, made its people righteous and to possess their possessions. It is apparent that the major trouble of Nigeria is the issue of departed glory caused by the lack of God’s presence. For God to restore the glory of our nation, we must ask Him to come back to us. Beloved, do you currently experience the pains of lost glory? You need to return to Him, let Him possess you afresh and make you totally aglow again.
