GUARD YOUR FAITH WITH POWERFUL LOVE

Hold on to the pattern of healthy teachings ... along with the faith and love that are in the Messiah Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:13, ISV

To have your prayer answered as well as to receive the fulfilment of God’s promises in your life; to walk with God as well as to overcome life challenges, you need faith in God. Paul saw genuine faith in Timothy, the faith he learnt from his
mother and grandmother. He perceived that God had a great plan for Timothy and that he must preserve his faith if he would be able to go far with God in life. Hence, Paul passionately instructed Timothy on how to keep his faith from waning.

Paul revealed that love is the most important attitude Timothy ought to cultivate, if he would effectively guard his faith. The Bible says, “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love” (Galatians 5:6, KJV). As important as faith is, if love is lacking, faith will become dormant. If you have a mountain moving faith and you have no love, the Bible says you are nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2). Love is the medium for a true and enduring faith in God. Grow in love and your faith will flourish.
