Mikel to leave Chelsea in January


Nigeria international midfielder, John Mikel Obihas been told he is free to leave Chelsea in January according to reports.

Mikel Obi is the second oldest serving Chelsea player at the club after the captain, John Terry.

The 29-year-old has however yet to make any appearance for Chelsea this season since he returned from the Rio 2016 Olympic Gameswhere he won bronze with Nigeria’s U-23 football team.
Mikel revealed that he has spoken with Antonio Conte over his lack of games and that the manager has been honest with him.
According to several reports from the Nigerian media, sources close to the midfielder have revealed that Conte told him he can leave in January during the meeting.

Mikel during the week received a visit from his national team coach, Gernot Rohr.
The Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Rohr stopped by Chelsea’s training ground to meet with Mikel to know his present situation in the club.
