DWELLERS IN THE NEW JERUSALEM

“Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God...” Revelation 3:12, NIV

I remember when I was much younger and we were about moving into our new house. My father carefully selected those belongings that will go to the new the house. He even bought same new upholstery to replace the old ones. The reason was
because the new house deserved only good, new and useful products. Similarly, the New Jerusalem is for the selected few who have kept God’s commandment.

Verse 12 stated that it is only “he who overcomes the world (1 John 5:4)” that will dwell in the temple of the LORD in the New Jerusalem. By implication somebody who will be regarded as qualified for that honour must meet certain conditions. These are; placing their faith in Christ as their Saviour and living a life of holiness. Revelation 21:27 states that nothing impure will ever enter into the New Jerusalem, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful. Revelation 21:8 again says all liars will have their part in the lake of fire. Beloved, do you think you are qualified to be with the Lord at His second coming? If not, come to Him today.
