Legendary: King Sunny Ade and Onyeka Onwenu interviewed together.


King Sunny Ade and Onyeka Onwenu have held their first ever interview together after many years. The duo granted their first ever interview together.
The duo who are legends of Nigerian music held the interview at Pulse Nigeria on Friday, November 25, 2016.
King Sunny Ade is a Nigerian musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and a pioneer of modern world music who has been classed as one of the most influential musicians of all time.

Onyeka Onwenu (born 17 May 1952) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, actress, journalist, politician, and X Factor series judge. She is the youngest daughter of the Nigerian educationist and politician D.K Onwenu. Dubbed the "Elegant Stallion" by the Nigerian press, she is a former chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts and Culture, and former the Executive Director/chief executive officer of the National Centre for Women Development.

In the late ’80s, the duo released a love song called ‘Wait For Me’. Their monster hit, which is regarded today as the greatest of Nigerian duets, came with a lot of controversies and soon fans paired them up into a relationship.
KSA and Onwenu were at the Pulse Nigeria studios in Lagos, in preparation for the induction into the HardRock Hall of Fame and his 70 birthday. The interview was streamed live on Pulse Nigeria’s Facebook.
The duo shared fond memories of their time together recording music, spoke on how they created ‘Wait for me’, and the change that Nigerian music has experienced over the years.
King Sunny Ade has Nigerians looking forward to his 70th birthday concert on December 11, 2016 tagged, ‘Sunny On Sunday’ and the King of Juju music will be honoured as the first Nigerian to join the Hard Rock Hall of Fame.

There will be a special induction ceremony on Wednesday, November 30th, at Hard Rock Cafe, Landmark Village, Oniru, Lagos for the Legend of Nigerian music.
King Sunny Ade promised to give fans the performance of his life at the concert scheduled to hold at Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Sunny On Sunday concert will also feature performances from some sensational acts including Congolese icon, Awilo Logomba, Onyeka Onwenu, Sir Shina Peters, Darey, Omawumi, Niniola, Terry Apala, Jeff and Tyson Noir.
“I am very honoured to be at Pulse Nigeria, and I feel happy that I am the first person to be honoured by the HardRock Café.”
