THANKS TO GOD FOR EARTH’S BOUNTY
The meadows are covered with flocks… they shout for joy and sing. Psalm 65:13, NIV
Martin Rinkat (1586-1649) wrote the hymn, “Now Thank We All Our God”, as an expression of deep appreciation to God. This
hymn has become an anthem in many homes and churches. The third stanza of the song made particular reference to the ‘bounteous God,’ who is generous in His actions and gifts. The earth displays God’s bounty throughout the year as it buds and flourishes to yield seed for the sower and bread for the eater (Isaiah 55:10c)
Like the psalmist, our experiences of God’s care, lavish love, as well as the vastness of His provisions are an evidence of His bounteous nature. The Lord knows what you need at each given time and has made provision for you. He knows what you are going through presently and what you will go through in future and He has made a way out for you. He has so many blessings in store for you. Can you imagine God's creativity in nature? Consider the greenery, the flowing streams, chanting birds, bleating animals, and give to God a well-deserved praise for having you in mind while creating them all.
• Birthday Blessing: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." Psalms 23:4
Read Bible Through Passage: Job 40-42
