The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, has
been whisked away by operatives of Department of State Services (DSS)
and the Nigerian Prisons Service after he was granted bail by a Federal
High Court in Abuja.
Nnamdi Kanu and the other three accused persons were
taken away in a green prisons vehicle escorted by four other black hilux
vans.
Although, it is still unclear when the bail conditions will be perfected
by the IPOB leader, NAIJ.com reports that Kanu's relatives left
immediately to make arrangements for the release the IPOB leader.
The Federal High Court had earlier ruled that IPOB leader provides three
sureties one of who must be a serving senator, a jewish religious
leader and highly respected person and must own a land in anywhere in
Abuja as part of his bail conditions.
The bail bond was put at N100 million for each surety.
The judge presiding over the case, Justice Binta Nyako, also ordered
Kanu never to grant any press interview pending the outcome of his trial
He is also expected not to be in a gathering of more than 10 persons
Justice Binta Nyako noted that Kanu's bail will be revoked if any of the orders are flouted.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has given reasons
for appearing in court for Nnamdi Kanu's trial today, Tuesday, April 25.
