Simon Cowell Breaks Down In Floods Of Tears As He Listens To The Grenfell Tower Charity Single

Simon Cowell was so moved as he listened to the Grenfell Tower charity single for the first time that he 'broke down in floods of tears'.

A source tells MailOnline that the normally sharp-tongued mogul and TV personality broke his steely facade and openly wept while the star-studded cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s 1970 classic Bridge Over Troubled Water played in a studio.

The source said: 'Simon broke down in floods of tears when he thought about the victims. It was really unlike him to show that side of him.'

Simon listened to the track - which was released this morning - alone and was still emotional as he was joined by star participants Robbie Williams and Nile Rodgers soon afterwards, says the source.

Simon recently announced that he's donating £100,000 of his own money to the victims of the Grenfell fire, after revealing he was left feeling 'angry and upset' when he saw footage of the shocking inferno last week.
