Abandoned Projects And Niger Delta Ruin By Uguru Usani

A value-for-money audit carried out on contracts awarded by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs has revealed gross non-performance and waste of public funds. Nigeria has not been fair to the Niger Delta region following five decades of exploitation of its oil and gas resources. Its environment has been degraded, manifest in oil spills, gas flaring, hydro-carbon-contaminated water, loss of aquatic life and bad roads. This has earned the country global notoriety.

Fashola, Power and Realistic Expectations, By Ikeogu Oke

Though appropriate, the word “novel” arguably understates the import of President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to saddle Babatunde Fashola with three highly demanding portfolios in his cabinet, namely Power, Works and Housing. I am making this observation after reading the interesting piece by Uche Aneke entitled “Power sector: Great Expectations from Fashola,” published in The Guardian of December 9, 2015, in which Aneke – the General Manager, Public Affairs, of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) – makes reference to the “novel way in which portfolios were assigned” by President Buhari, as shown by the three portfolios assigned to Fashola.

Huawei’s P9 Now Comes In Dark Red or Blue, And Both Are Absolutely Gorgeous

In the midst of announcing a new lineup of Android smartphones, a new tablet, and more at IFA 2016, Huawei also quietly added two new color options for the Huawei P9. These new colors, simply referred to as blue and red, give the devices a unique look and yeah, it’s absolutely gorgeous.
Blue and red add on to the long list of colors available for the P9 including Haze Gold, Ceramic White, Rose Gold, Prestige Gold, Titanium (thought I’d say gold again, didn’t you?) Grey, and Mystic Silver. In our review of the Huawei P9 earlier this year, we praised the device for its fantastic design and build quality, so these new colors only add to the options in which you can experience that design.
The company hasn’t said much regarding availability for these new colors, but it’s safe to assume that these will be available anywhere the P9 is openly sold.

When did you discover your passion for mentoring young entrepreneurs?
My passion is not mentoring entrepreneurs. My interest is in finding ways to make technology work for us as a society and the reason why I am passionate about that is, I believe that as a society in Nigeria, and Africa as a whole, for us to move forward, we have to invest in our ability to create the future we want to see. That literally means we need to imbibe the culture of building solutions. If we have bad roads, we need to imbibe the culture of understanding how to build roads that will last, not necessarily

The Bible Is Not Infallible By Femi Aribisala

Jeremiah predicts Babylon would be suddenly and completely obliterated. But this did not happen.
There are false prophecies in the bible. They are intended to dilute the impact of the more radical prophets. Everything points to the scribes and the priests as the architects of these distortions, since they are often pilloried by the radical prophets.
Jesus confirms this by accusing them: “You nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.” (Matthew 15:6).
