The Lagos State Government has announced plans to establish information centres across the state to increase residents’ access to information.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, stated this on Thursday during a news conference on the activities of his ministry, adding that the move was to ensure the government ran an all-inclusive government, in which everyone had a voice.
He said, “In recognition of the crucial role information management plays in the success or failure of any administration, the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Information and Strategy, will soon set up citizens’ information centres across the state to serve as a one-stop-shop for all residents to access public information.”
Ayorinde said the information ministry would also set up bureau centres across the state where government activities would be reported live, adding that the initiative was to bring government closer to the people.
