Romans 11:11-24
TWO SIDES OF A COIN
Therefore consider the goodness and the severity of God; on those who fell, severity; but towards you, goodness... Romans 11:22, NIV
There are those who argue that God will never send people to hell. They submit that He is too loving to allow even the worst sinner to suffer the pain and agony of eternal destruction. Unbelievers hold this view. They reason that a loving God cannot be so punitive in nature.
Interestingly, many who say they are believers also hold this view. They proclaim that they are saved but they live like lost people because they are somehow convinced that God will not send them to hell.
A major reason for this is because they do not have an appropriate understanding of who God is. They do not see that the loving nature of God is not exclusive to His nature of justice. His love and His judgment are two sides of the same coin. Their perspective is warped.
Somebody said, "Perspective is not what we see, but the way we see it." So what do you see? If you see that God will not condone sin, you will be careful so that you will not suffer the consequences of His wrath.
Pray with this: Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you... Isaiah 41:14
RBT Passage: Ps 80-85; Rom. 16
It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.- Robert Goddard
