JESUS, SUPERIOR TO THE ANGELS
To which of the angels did God ever say, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet?” Hebrews 1:13, NIV
Angels are spiritual beings created by God to see Him. The Bible calls them ministering spirits I assigned to attend to us, the heirs of salvation (v. 14). Today’s Passage contains certain truths that affirm the superiority of Jesus to the angels. Jesus Christ is the
Lord who created the heaven and the earth and everything therein, angels inclusive (v 10). Angels minister before the throne; they do not sit on the throne; only Christ does. While angels are collectively termed ‘sons of God’ (Job 1:6), only Christ has the tide ‘Son of God.’
The worship of angels, saints or any other person is contrary to God’s Word because it shifts people’s attention from the Creator to the creature. Jesus is God and He is the only One Worthy of our total devotion and worship. The supremacy of the Son to the angel is not in any way in doubt in any way. Shift your gaze from the angels; look unto the Son, Jesus who alone is the Author and Finisher of your faith.
• Birthday Blessing: For thou hast been a Shelters for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. Psalm 61:3
RBT Passage: Isa. 27, 28, 29; Gal. 6
We can’t Worship the angels, who are sent to serve us… The only answer is Jesus Christ. He and He alone is worthy of our worship our allegiance and our faith. -Gil Rugh
