Ephesians 1:3-8a

JESUS, AUTHOR OF ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS

Blessed be ... Christ who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places.... Eph. 1:3, RSV

When we do not know or value what we have Jesus, we run from pillar o post, moving from one mountain to the other in search of ‘blessings.’ In Christ, we are made rich and there is nothing else
we need that we do not already have in Him. Paul wrote this letter to the Ephesians while in prison, but even in that situation, he did not lose sight of his unchanging blessings in Christ which cannot be taken away by any circumstance.

Some of the spiritual blessings that we have in Christ include the fact that God chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love, He predestined us to be adopted as His children through Jesus Christ.

In Christ, He gave us His grace without pay; we were redeemed by the blood of Jesus and we were forgiven because of the riches of His grace. He also marked us with a seal-the Holy Spirit (v. 11). Savour the richness of your person in Christ and enjoy His wonderful blessings. As we mark the Independence Day in Nigeria today, may the Lord bless our land with all spiritual blessings.
