Meet with Victor Moses

Victor Moses, a Nigerian Born professional footballer. The talented winger cum striker was born on December 12, 1990  in  lagos to Pastor Austine Moses and Josephine Moses.  His parents were missionaries who lived in Kaduna State, Nigeria. However in 2002, during a  muslim and Christian riots in Kaduna State, his parents were murdered by muslim youths. Victor Moses was just 11years at the
time of the incident and he had gone to play football with his peers in the town. After the traumatic incident, he emigrated to the United Kingdom and sought asylum there. He was actually taken to London by his uncle. While in London, his dream as a football star was enkindled. He played football for his school and later for a local Tandrige League club until Crystal Palace FC approached him. Victor Moses played for England's under 16, 17, 19 and 21 teams between 2005 and 2010 scoring 11 goals for England during this period. He thereafter  moved to Wigan Athletic and later started playing for Chelsea in the English Premier league. It is worthy to note that the story of Victor Moses life is a journey of  pain, courage, perseverance, hardwork and a zeal to excel. Notwithstanding that his parents were murdered in Nigeria when he was just a teenager of 11years old, that did not deter him from answering the patriotic call and opting to play for his fatherland Nigeria. He was selected among the squad to face Guatemala in 2011 but the friendly was cancelled at the last minute. He was selected again for games against Ethiopia and Kenya in 2011 but FIFA ruled him out of both ties because his application to switch nationalities was not received in time by the world football governing body. He was finally cleared to play for Nigeria in November 2011 and made his debut in Nigeria’s 6-1 win over Liberia at Calabar to qualify for the 2013 African Cup of Nations. He also contributed immensely to Nigeria’s progression to the knock-out stages in the Nations Cup after winning and scoring two penalties against Ethiopia in the last group game to qualify for the Quarter-finals ahead of defending Champions, Zambia. The talented footballer is married and blessed with two children. The first, Bentley Moses was born in September 2012, while his daughter, Nyah Moses  was born  February 2015.
