THE FIRST HEAVEN AND THE FIRST EARTH

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. Genesis 1:29, NIV


God underscored three certain facts in the creation of the first heaven and the first earth. These emphases are equally important for man in this generation.

The first emphasis has to do with the multiplication of man. God made specific statement on this to let man know how important male-female relationship is. The second has to do with the need for human sustenance through feeding. Our focus verse shows that God provided man with various kinds of plants that can fill his stomach and heal his wounds. Lastly, God reiterated the need for rejuvenation through rest by demonstrating it as He too rested on the seventh day, which later was interpreted to mean the Sabbath.

God who made man and the beast cares to preserve both (Psalms 36:6) right from inception. We were made out the earth and we are being maintained out of it. The question is how much value do you as a person place on these three essential facts?

Multiplication is needful but must be practiced at the appropriate time. Food and rest are equally crucial for good health. Observe them rightly to get God’s result-long life.

Pray with this: And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt
be as the morning (Job 11:17)
