Pele’s Son Set To Serve Nearly 13 Years In Prison – See Why

The son of Brazil legend Pele has been told that he must serve almost 13 years behind bars.
Edinho says that he will turn himself into police after being ordered to fulfill some of his 33-year drug trafficking sentence.

Eugenio Malavasi, lawyer for Edinho, told Reuters:
“He is going to turn himself in as soon as the decision is in the system.”

The former Santos goalkeeper, whose full name is Edson Cholbi do Nascimento, was found guilty of drug trafficking and money laundering in 2005 but has been fighting the charges since.
Edinho’s appeal was heard by a judge who reduced his 33-year sentence to 12 years and 10 months.
But Edinho’s lawyer claims that he is innocent and will continue to try and win his case.
