They said they voted for Buhari so he could help rescue their children
- They also criticised they have been treated by Aso Villa security operatives
Parents of the abducted Chibok girls have expressed
regret in voting for President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2015
elections saying he has now made them their enemy.
More than 200 girls were abducted from their schools in
Chibok in 2014 by the dreaded Boko Haram group and although 21 of them
have been released, more than 100 are still yet to be returned.
The administration of President Buhari had reiterated its commitment in seeing to the release of the rest of the girls.
Daily Post reports the parents of the girls said they
were turned away by security personnel on Wednesday, April 19 when they
tried to see the president.
They parents were led by Reverend Enoch Mark who’s two daughters were abducted by the terrorists.
They said the president’s lukewarm attitude showed he was
not concerned about the return of the girls and regretted voting for
him.
We are very sorry for giving Mr. President our votes. We
voted Mr. President hoping he would rescue our daughters but we have
become his enemy.
“Why can’t the President communicate with us, are we not
Nigerians? Is that good for a president; a leader to show such attitude.
We believe the President is against the Chibok Community.”
They said the federal government had sent consolation message to countries hit by disasters while ignoring them.
