APC: Ruling party releases delegates’ list for primary election in Ondo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday released the hitherto, controversial delegates’ list to all 24 aspirants jostling for the party’s ticket for the Ondo State Governorship poll.

The 'hard copy', which contains the names of all delegates, was given to the aspirants, some of whom were represented, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the crisis rocking the state chapter of the party began over an allegation that one of the aspirants, Mr Olusegun Abraham, had been endorsed by the National Leader of APC, ChiefBola Tinubu.
NAN also recalls that the State Chairman, MrIsaac Kekemeke, was at a point suspended over an allegation that he tampered with the delegates’ list.
The party had, at separate times, called the aspirants and the state executive to clear the matter and allay the fears of the aspirants.
NAN learnt that the decision to release the list was made by the party leadership as a show of transparency in the conduct of the party primary election on Sept. 3, 2016.
